When you’re working with Army and Marine Corps units, you immediately notice a difference. The Army is pretty tough, but their performance can depend on the individual unit. Some are excellent, filled with hoorah and first-class warriors. A few are absolutely horrible; most are somewhere in between. In my experience, Marines are gung ho no matter what. They will all fight to the death. Every one of them just wants to get out there and kill. They are bad-ass, hard-charging mothers.
― Chris Kyle, NAVY SEAL, American Sniper
If the Army and the Navy ever looked on Heavens scene, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines!
They fought liked devils, they howled like wolves in the night. They make us stay up late, too scared to sleep. It seems that satan has unleashed his devil dogs into us. It’s only a matter of time until they come to fetch our souls. ~ German Officer, 1918.
When the army and navy get to heaven, they will find the streets guarded by Marines. Love that
My grandfather was a marine from 43-73, three times awarded the distinguished flying cross. he made it through WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Had he not come home, I wouldn’t be here typing this today. Semper Fi, Marines. You do your country proud.
This was my favorite military hymn song when we sang this in elementary, and now it’s become the branch I’m planning to join after graduation
I love all the former and current marines. And I’m not even American. I have the dream of having friends who are marine soldiers and veterans. Take care of yourselves. Love and hugs from a huge supporter in Israel.
Remember devildogs
We stole the eagle from the Air Force, the rope from the Army, and the anchor from the Navy. And on the 7th Day, when God rested, we overran His perimeter, stole the globe, and we’ve been running the show ever since. Warrior by day, lover by night, drunkard by choice, Marine by God.
Sir we’re surrounded!!!
Good, they cant get away this time.
I’m not even American but this makes me feel patriotic
My father a proud Marine, did his tour in Vietnam in ’65. Many of the values the Marines instilled in him he passed down to his sons. He’s strong, confident, resourceful, holds his head high and his back straight, looks every man in the eye. Glad he’s my dad.
Today you people are no longer maggots. Today you are Marines. You’re part of a brotherhood. From now on, until the day you die, wherever you are, every Marine is your brother. Most of you will go to Vietnam. Some of you will not come back. But always remember this: Marines die, that’s what we’re here for! But the Marine Corps lives forever, and that means you live forever!
– Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey
My dad was a U.S marine for 27 years who fought in the Iraqi war and was never hit with a bullet once. He was in the 2nd battalion and was a Colonel. He worked with Navy SEALs and other marines in Iraq and Afghanistan. When I’m older I wish to join the Marines to be like my Dad and Grandfather.
Big thanks to the people at USMC who secure the airport in Kabul. You gave your life for our safety. Rest in peace. Greetings from Germany.
My brother graduates boot camp in 4 days and he has no idea that me, our older sister, and our grandpa will be accompanying my mom to his graduation! I’ve been repeating this song while cleaning his room up for him for the passed hour so I can sing it at the ceremony with everyone else. It’s gonna be my first plane ride, and I bet it’ll be so fun when I get there! It’s gonna be great! He’s platoon leader too, so that’s also amazing!
